Jeane was born into a very musical family, her grandmother was a professional singer and dancer and her mother was a music teacher. Jeane statred singing and dancing from avery early age. Following tuition from her mother she went for singing lessons to Dorothy Reid in Liverpool and Isobell Ballie in Manchester.

She sang in school concerts, Music Festivals and shows, then joined the local Gilbert and Sullivan Operatic Society playing a number of leading rools during her time with them. Jeane then joined the Birkenhead Amateur Operatic Society where she continued to play leading rolls.

Jeane has been a semi-professional singer for many years. She is also a qualified secretary and has a degree in Business studies.

Jeane met and married Johnnie Hilton who was a Mecca Band Leader for many years and she also sang in his band on a number of occasions, Jeane was also Johnnie's secretary, therefore she has a good knowledge of the Big Band world. During Johnnie's time at the Grafton Rooms Liverpool. Jeane met Joe Loss on a number of occasions when the band played at the Grafton Rooms. Sam Watmough was Johnnie's Bass Player from September 1952 -April 1954.

Jeane has been assisting with the Toddlers Fan Club for the past few years by researching details of all the venues editing and circulating the Quarterly newsletter and dealing with publicity.
